The People’s House Roundup in Westminster

I am letting you know of a People’s House Round-Up that is going on in Westminster. Many have already occurred in Colorado and the Westminster one is scheduled for November 9th. These are great events that allow local folks to talk with their legislators as well as meet members of the Colorado House Leadership team. The small donor funds raised at the event will help expand our majorities in 2012. Since the energy and turnout has been so great, this is one of three additional locations to be added.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to any and all of the Republicans in our part of the Front Range.
Regards,
Rep. Priola

COLORADO’S CHICAGO: Another Corrupt Democrat Revealed In Adams County

This has past the point of ridiculousness. Virtually every elected Democrat in Adams County has now been tied to corruption in the last year. From County Commissioner Alice Nichol allegedly receiving cash payments of $10,000 from a company that charged the county to pave roads that didn’t exist, to County Assessor Gil Reyes saving his campaign donors nearly a million bucks in taxable income through lowering their assessed property values, if you’ve got a D next to your name in Adams County you’re probably corrupt.
Today we add news of RTD Director Ken Riley from The Denver Post, who has apparently fled the state after illegally spending five figures of union money on his own RTD election. The news of Riley’s troubles first appeared in a tweet from anonymous (& apparently very well informed) twitter user RockyMtnShadow on August 22nd that said that Riley had been “abruptly removed” from his position of Executive Director of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the largest union in the country. RTD Director Ken Riley resigns amid allegations of theft from union

October 19th, 2011
RTD Director Ken Riley is still missing but has resigned from his post with RTD amid a criminal investigation.

After being missing from the job voters hired him to do for months and potentially facing criminal charges, Ken Riley submitted his resignation to the RTD Board of Directors on Monday night.  In a troubling trend, he becomes the third local Adams County politico in recent months to become embroiled in scandal.

Nearly two weeks ago Tony’s Rants was the first to report on Riley’s repeated absences from RTD board meetings and attempts to track him down were unsuccessful.  Rumors were circulating that Riley had fled the area and was under investigation for theft from his former employer, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

The Denver Post reports this morning that the rumors are indeed true.  Records show Riley spent thousands of AFSCME dollars to fund his campaign for the RTD board.  Wining and dining, postage and even his victory celebration were funded by union members without authorization. Adams County Candidate Information

>  2011 Mayoral & City Council Candidates

>   2011 School Board Candidates

Below is a list of REPUBLICAN candidates in Mayoral, City Council, and School Board Races in Adams County. We are in the last few campaign weeks before the mail-ballots drop on October 11. This is a time when candidates NEED YOUR HELP. When it was supplied to me, I included contact info for the candidate. For the others, Google the candidate’s name and either the city/state or the school district number. If the candidate has a website, which should have contact info, you can find it that way.

Folks, these races are IMPORTANT. The races are “non-partisan,” but all that means is that there is no R or D after the candidate’s name on the ballot. It has nothing to do with the principles held by a candidate and where we throw our support. The Dems have been taking most of these seats for years, and the Progressive agenda has been showing up in our cities and schools. We need to take back control at every level of government. PLEASE help out. If you have trouble finding info for a candidate, contact me at 303-457-1291 or heypattymac@juno.com, and I will help you search.

Settlement reached in Nicastle case Insurance takes most of $730,000 hit

A $730,000 settlement has been reached after Mark Nicastle won his federal lawsuit against Adams County Sheriff Doug Darr.

As part of the settlement, Nicastle will resign from the sheriff’s office by the end of the month, ending his career of more than 31 years with the agency.
