Adams County Candidate Information

>  2011 Mayoral & City Council Candidates

>   2011 School Board Candidates

Below is a list of REPUBLICAN candidates in Mayoral, City Council, and School Board Races in Adams County. We are in the last few campaign weeks before the mail-ballots drop on October 11. This is a time when candidates NEED YOUR HELP. When it was supplied to me, I included contact info for the candidate. For the others, Google the candidate’s name and either the city/state or the school district number. If the candidate has a website, which should have contact info, you can find it that way.

Folks, these races are IMPORTANT. The races are “non-partisan,” but all that means is that there is no R or D after the candidate’s name on the ballot. It has nothing to do with the principles held by a candidate and where we throw our support. The Dems have been taking most of these seats for years, and the Progressive agenda has been showing up in our cities and schools. We need to take back control at every level of government. PLEASE help out. If you have trouble finding info for a candidate, contact me at 303-457-1291 or heypattymac@juno.com, and I will help you search.

The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR)

Closing windows on taxpayer’s rights

by Brian Vande Krol/Guest Column

May 26, 2011

The Constitution of the United States of America. What a powerful opening statement for today’s column. Embodied in that document is the reason the United States has led the world in progress, affluence, and compassion for over 200 years. It is because of the Constitution’s limits on government and protection of individual rights that society has advanced more in the last 200 years than in the previous 5000 years.

The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR).

Not quite as captivating, is it? It doesn’t really stir one’s emotions. But while the Constitution enabled great achievements by limiting the federal government, TABOR has helped to protect progress in Colorado by limiting our state government. Read the rest of this entry »

Ex-GOP gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis won’t be disciplined in plagiarism complaint

By Sara Burnett
The Denver Post

Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis will not face disciplinary action from the state’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel after an investigation of a plagiarism complaint found insufficient evidence to establish ethics violations.

Regulation Counsel John Gleason said new evidence and follow-up interviews with witnesses revealed no “clear and convincing evidence” that McInnis, a lawyer, violated disciplinary rules.

McInnis lost the Republican primary in the 2010 governor’s race after The Denver Post revealed the former congressman in 2005 and 2006 had presented several articles on water policy as his own work, though they were nearly identical to essays written by now-Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Hobbs. Read the rest of this entry »
