08/31/2011 – The Adams County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution in public hearing today, directing county staff to prepare a ballot question asking voters whether or not to increase the Board of County Commissioners from three to five members. SUBJECT:Training on Fair Campaign Practices Act
The Secretary of State’s staff will be holding a training session on the Fair Campaign Practices Act (FCPA) in Greeley on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Weld County Elections Office located at 1401 N. 17^th Avenue in Greeley.
The Fair Campaign Practices Act requires that candidates for public office and political committees disclose campaign contributions and expenditures.This training session is designed to inform candidates for offices such as school board director and special districts as well as the committees supporting candidates or issues about the provisions of Article XXVIII of the Colorado Constitution; Colorado Revised Statutes, Title 1, Article 45; and the Secretary of State’s Rules.

Embodied in that document is the reason the United States has led the world in progress, affluence, and compassion for over 200 years. It is because of the Constitution’s limits on government and protection of individual rights that society has advanced more in the last 200 years than in the previous 5000 years. The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR). Not quite as captivating, is it? It doesn’t really stir one’s emotions. But while the Constitution enabled great achievements by limiting the federal government, TABOR has helped to protect progress in Colorado by limiting our state government. Ex-GOP gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis won’t be disciplined in plagiarism complaint

Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis will not face disciplinary action from the state’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel after an investigation of a plagiarism complaint found insufficient evidence to establish ethics violations.
Regulation Counsel John Gleason said new evidence and follow-up interviews with witnesses revealed no “clear and convincing evidence” that McInnis, a lawyer, violated disciplinary rules.
McInnis lost the Republican primary in the 2010 governor’s race after The Denver Post revealed the former congressman in 2005 and 2006 had presented several articles on water policy as his own work, though they were nearly identical to essays written by now-Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Election Picture Sharpens for GOP
REUTERSFormer Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty announced his candidacy in a video Sunday night.
The race for the Republican presidential nomination gained some long-awaited clarity Sunday when Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels ended months of speculation with an early-morning email alerting supporters that he won’t run.
Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, meanwhile, announced his candidacy in a video Sunday night and said he plans to begin his campaign with a speech in Iowa on Monday

Adams County Activist Training
American Majority is pleased to announce an Activist Training will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18 in Northglenn, CO to provide citizens with the tools necessary to become effective activists.
The training will take place at the O’Meara Ford located at 400 West 104th Avenue in Northglenn, Colorado from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Registration opens at 5:45. The cost is $25 per attendee.
Topics* to be covered during the Training include:
- The System (an in-depth look at the system we’re in, how we got there, and what we can do about it)
- Grassroots Action (ideas and practical steps to engage our communities and organize a coalition of volunteers)
- Precinct Power (changing your community one precinct at a time with specific micro-targeting and focused action)
- Patriots 2.0 (effectively utilizing social networking tools, blogs, wiki projects and other technologically-driven platforms)
Full training materials, samples and supplements will be provided to help you apply what you learn to your organization, candidate, cause or community.
