Many have already occurred in Colorado and the Westminster one is scheduled for November 9th. These are great events that allow local folks to talk with their legislators as well as meet members of the Colorado House Leadership team. The small donor funds raised at the event will help expand our majorities in 2012. Since the energy and turnout has been so great, this is one of three additional locations to be added.

Not only are we are hoping for 100 attendees who will hear about the House’s plan to increase its slim one-vote majority but also urging contributions from those unable to attend the event.

Barbara was a long-time member of the Republican Trumpeteers of Adams County and is a former District II Director for the Colorado Federation of Republican Women. Barbara was an active volunteer for the Republican Party. Mary Dambman fondly remembers, “I recall her doing mailings at the 7th Congressional District Office in Jefferson County. She couldn’t do phone calls or walk, but she was there to do mailings all day for Bob Beauprez and Rick O’Donnell, and for US Senate and Presidential Candidates in 2008 and 2010. Sonny took her wherever she was needed.”
The service for Barbara will be held on Thursday, June 9, at 10:30 am. A viewing will be held prior to the service, at 9:30 am. Our President, Betty Jean Beall, will be preparing flowers for the service and would appreciate donations to cover the cost of the flowers. The announcement for the service is in today’s Denver Post.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 39 years, Clendon “Sonny” Fitzgerald, and four children. Sonny said that Barbara knew her time was coming and had time to say goodbye to family and close friends. Sonny also said that about a half hour before Barbara passed, she said she was ready to go be with her Lord.
We ask that you keep the Fitzgerald family in your prayers. Betty Jean Beall will be attending the service. If a ride is needed, please contact Betty Jean at (303) 426-7079.

The Adams County Republicans 2010 Lincoln Day Dinner will be on Saturday May 15th at 7pm.  Join us at the Double Tree Denver North Hotel, 8773 Yates Drive in Westminster, located one block east of Sheridan and three blocks south of 92nd Avenue.

Our keynote speaker will be The Honorable Bob Schaffer, former Colorado State Senator, former US Congressman, with  the State Board of Education and Chairman of the Leadership Program of the Rockies.  Our Master of Ceremonies will be The Honorable Mark Hillman, Colorado National Committeeman, former State Treasurer, and State Senate Majority Leader.
